About Ruth Joy, Inc.Ruth Joy, Inc., of Great Falls, Montana, is a private business owned and operated by a mother-daughter team. The business, which began as a hobby and started out of one room, has flourished into a nationwide operation with a home of its own. The mother, Joyce McDonald, is a watercolor artist specializing in landscapes, birds and florals. Joyce holds a degree in commercial art. The daughter, Ruth Joy McDonald-Gates, has been doing calligraphy for over 20 years. Ruth was fortunate enough to be able to start her training and study for several years with nationally known calligrapher, Denys Taiple-Knight. She has since had the opportunity to study under the direction of many of the nation's foremost calligraphers such as Dick Beasley, Leanna Faye, Martin Jackson, Reggie Ezell, Jean Formo, Suzanne Moore and many more. After many successful years, the business chose to invite some of their many talented friends to share their work with you. All of the calligraphy is done by Ruth McDonald-Gates. Watercolor artists are Joyce McDonald and Victoria Wavra. Victoria, a talented artist, is best known for her landscapes and florals. The unique chisel brush flower designs are by Virginia Meltzer, who is not only a wonderful artist but also an extremely creative calligrapher. Ruth Joy is pleased to be able to introduce their varied collection of calligraphy art prints to you. Each piece is double matted and framed in your choice of frames available. They are backed with a dust cover and are ready to hang. All products used in assembly are acid free, meant to last a lifetime. The "Tender Thoughts" line of minis are not matted, but are available in the same selection of frames as the regular Ruth Joy line.
